Abstract

This paper presents the results of using holographic and speckle interferometry for measuring the dynamic displacements of structures. The hologram essentially records the time-average complex amplitude of light scattered by the object to the hologram plane. The technique has been used here for the experimental modal analysis of an aircraft engine turbine blade. Experimental and computed model features were compared to evaluate the reliability of the finite elements model of the turbine used for computation by the Nastran package.
