Abstract

In this work the ESPI system has been used for studying masonry specimens. They are subjected to an in-plane deformation inspection system which has been built up for an automatic acquisition of interferograms at different test stages. A continuous monitoring of the specimen surface gives interesting results and information about the mechanical behaviour of these materials. Several experiments were conducted leading to qualitative and quantitative results which compare favourably with traditional inspection methods.
