New calculation methods for experimental pseudodynamics
This report presents a new way of using the method of pseudodynamic testing, which incorporates concepts originally proposed in methods of reduction for dynamic analysis of nonlinear structures. The method would seem to be appropriate for studying rigid structures with a distributed mass and a high degree of nonlinearity. It would significantly improve the accuracy of the test by using a low number of hydraulic actuators. A series of numerical experiments is presented in which a fitted beam is subjected to seismic excitation.
