This project aimed to provide a photovoltaic (PV) power supply for 38 farmhouses, to evaluate maximum application of permanent data recording of small PV systems and radio transmission, and to achieve maximum maintenance and control of small PV systems by the contractor in an area with a radius of approximately 20 km. It consisted of 38 PV stand-alone power supplies for farmhouses, with the incorporation of the radiocommunication system. There were four different types of systems: (i) 28 systems (types D and C) with outlet, recording and data transmission via radio and photovoltaic generator; (ii) 8 systems (type B) with radiotransceiver and photovoltaic generator; (iii) 2 systems (type A) with photovoltaic generator only. The project fulfilled the above aims, despite the problem caused by the lock down of Ambar. RF modems were improved by intelligent modems which allowed more reliable and faster data transmission.
