Change in electron cyclotron emission during a sawtooth collapseFunded under: FP3-FUSION 11C
Predictions of increased electron cyclotron emission of short duration occurring at a sawtooth crash in JET are made by analysing the fast compression of trapped electrons by the rapidly growing m = 1, n = 1 internal kink mode displacement of the plasma core. Quantitative estimates of the apparent increase of electron temperature are derived.
