Abstract

This paper discusses an interpretation of the experimental measurements of microwave transmission in Tore Supra. It displays systematic evidence of features that are not compatible with the cold-plasma theory of wave propagation in a thermal plasma. The interpretation is based on hot plasma corrections to the Hermitian part of a dielectric tensor. This shows that the ray-tracing calculations yield transmission spectra in agreement with the experimental ones.
