Conceptual study of a reflector array for launching lower hybrid waves in reactor-grade plasmas
The concept of a reflector waveguide array is proposed for the plasma facing component of an advanced LH launcher. The mechanical robustness of the antenna and efficient heat removal are provided by a thick wall waveguide structure. This allows the use of high poloidally oversized waveguides. It is shown that the coupling efficiency of such an array and the directivity of the radiated power spectrum are very similar.
