Spectroscopic observation of temperature and density modulations in the boundary layer during ergodic divertor operation in the Tore Supra tokamak
Axisymmetric poloidal divertor configuration is a critical issue in tokamaks. The experiments described in this paper try to destroy the magnetic surfaces in the edge plasma with a weak resonant perturbation, leading to an edge layer where the field lines are stochastic. The expected result is an enhancement of both the particle and heat transport coefficients.
