Abstract

This report gives a detailed description of the research study carried out to produce ethanol reference materials of different vegetal origins. These reference materials were used to verify the adjustment of the NMR high resolution spectrometers for the SNIF-NMR methods recommended to detect sugar enrichment of wines and must. The report is divided into three parts: (i) feasibility of quantitative 2H-NMR for routine analyses of ethanols; (ii) stability of ethanol reference materials; (iii) certification procedures for ethanol reference materials.
