A resistance ratio method for alloy homogeneity control
This paper describes a procedure of resistance ratio methods for alloy quality control using liquid nitrogen to achieve the low temperature resistance measurement. Two examples of use are given: cobalt segregation was detected in casting of V-1 % Co alloy and was confirmed by neutron activation analysis, and homogeneity controls were carried out on a series of Cu-Cr alloys containing 8 to 60 ppm Cr with a precision of 4 ppm Cr or better.
