Static deformation measurements on violins by optical TV-holography
In this paper the method of ESPI (electronic speckle pattern interferometry) is used to analyse static deformation analysis of the violin. Two violins, built with different arching, were studied. Digital maps of deformation with sub-micron accuracy were obtained and the results showed that string force produces different deformation shapes relating to the differences in the arching.
