Adhesive joint quality assessment via acoustic emission monitoring
This paper contains an evaluation of the quality of adhesive joints. The joints were monitored with acoustic emission during the polymerisation cycle of the adhesive. Reduced adhesive surfaces were introduced to represent the defect situation. The results of the tests show a possible correlation between the behaviour of certain parameters of the acoustic signal and the quality of the joint.
