Potential of synchrotron radiation for electron temperature diagnostics on Next Step tokamaks
Central electron temperature measurements are considered in hot tokamaks using high frequency synchrotron radiation. The method relies on a best fitting procedure. It is shown that the fitting technique between theoretical and experimental spectra is simplified by a graphical method which makes use of the associated blackbody emission of a perfect reflector with radiation temperature related but not equal to the electron temperature on axis.
