The European Chemicals Bureau and phase I data collection & the HEDSET
This paper outlines the rationale of the phase I data collection and the HEDSET (Harmonised Electronic Data Set) diskettes. It gives an overview of the data processing carried out when a HEDSET diskette is received and a description of the most frequently occurring problems, both regarding the registration of receipt and the actual loading. The European Chemicals Bureau is responsible for creating the Internatioanl Unified ChemicaL Information Database (IUCLID). This data from IUCLID is used to form the basis of the priority setting and constitutes a part of the data on which the risk assessment is based.
