The use of quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) within regulation (EEC) 793/93
This presentation gives an outline of the use of QSARs (Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships) as presented in a technical guidance document produced by the European Commission. The outline includes the general aspects which should be taken into account when selecting a QSAR for use within a risk assessment, the general uses of QSARs and to what extent a QSAR can assist within each of these general uses. It also reviews the actual models included in the technical document and the direction in which the document will be developed in future revisions of the guidance package.
