Abstract

The STORM project is designed to give a contribution to the research on fission products and nuclear aerosol behaviour during severe accidents in current and new generation reactors. This paper describes how the STORM project investigates the effects of high gas velocities and temperatures on particles that have been deposited in the LWR's primary circuit components. The JRC also organised a set of code benchmark exercises around the STORM project; these are described together with a preliminary discussion of the results. The final results will be presented in 1995.
