Abstract

This paper contains information on two projects aimed at the application or promotion of earth observation (EO) data at large spatial or temporal scales. These projects are TREES (Tropical Ecosystem Environment Observations by Satellites) and CEO (Centre for Earth Observation). The projects are described in detail and their relevance to ESCAP is discussed. The possible ways in which ESCAP member organisations could benefit from the experience gained from CEO and TREES project are explained.
