This contribution considers transport phenomena which are influenced by a hydrogen plasma background. It uses numerical results from the SOLXY-code developed for TEXTOR application and is aimed at the validation of specific source and transport models for the plasma edge. The model is validated by comparisons of the code results with measured density, temperature, potential and poloidal plasma rotation velocities. The role of sheath formation in front of the targets for destabilising interchange modes is also investigated.
