Relative Effectiveness of Agricultural Countermeasure Techniques : REACT : Proceedings of a workshop organised by the Commission of the European Communities, DG XII/D-3, Radiation Protection Research, DG XI/A-1, Radiation Protection, BrusseFunded under: FP2-RADPROT 7C
This publication contains the proceedings of a workshop on REACT (the Relative Effectiveness of Agricultural Countermeasure Techniques), held in Brussels in October 1991. Countermeasures involving modifications in agricultural practice are an integral part of any response to a nuclear accident. The workshop was primarily concerned with the medium and long-term recovery phase, when countermeasures are needed to return the land to production. The papers presented are organised into the following sections: (i) general principles applied to the use of countermeasures; (ii) countermeasures to limit contamination of plant products; (iii) countermeasures to limit contamination of animal products; (iv) countermeasures for reducing radiation doses arising from forest ecosystems.
