Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Traditional approaches to solving the software crisis have concentrated on generic solutions which are independent of the application domain. The ASPIS project has, however, developed expert systems which use both knowledge about development methods and application domains. This book describes the ASPIS system in the context of the state of the art in tool support for systems' development. The analysis and design methods which are currently supported are outlined, along with the languages and formalisms which are used in the development method. The operation of the system is then presented. Details of its design are provided and a critical comparison of the ASPIS approach and other system development models is discussed.
