V2032: TELAID : Telematic applications for the integration of drivers with special needs : Report No. 8Funded under: FP3-DRIVE 2
A survey of existing standards and directives was carried out in relation to the three main DSN aid categories distinguished in TELAID, i.e. adaptable control aids, mobility and car adaptation aids, and IT aids (mainly ATT). The gaps in the existing directives standards and regulations, once applied to an adapted car, are indicated as well as possible solutions or ways to find a solution. A table has been synthesised providing an overview of the existing and proposed draft standards or regulations for the various categories of DSN aids. In most cases this study has identified areas relevant to all ATT systems, or areas where there is a need for specific further research with DSN using a particular ATT system before either an existing standard can be modified or a new standard can be proposed. Priorities for further research on ATT aids for DSN towards new or improved standards/regulations are proposed.
