V2033: LLAMD : The LLAMD Euro-Project (London, Lyon, Amsterdam, Munich, Dublin, with MARGOT) : Report No. 4002Funded under: FP3-DRIVE 2
A comprehensive transport management system in the LLAMD Munich COMFORT project has to take maximum advantage of coherent control strategies for all control systems and ensure that consistent information is provided by different conventional and advanced transport information and route guidance systems. A transport information pool (TIP), representing the traffic situation in and around the city of Munich and a strategy and service centre (SSC), which transfers transport policies into control strategies and provides the linked systems with consistent recommendations, have, therefore, been designed. TIP/SSC form a distributed data base which requires a distributed data base management system (DDBMS) with a common data base model. They are both connected via Ethernet-LAN and TCP/IP protocol on the transport layer.
