V2056: CORD : Strategic assessment of ATT implementation : Report No. AC03 Version 1Funded under: FP3-DRIVE 2
Accompanying measures to assist in the exploitation of the outputs of the research include the creation and maintenance of transport telematics fora to bring together senior decision makers on technical policy and operations from among the intermediate users who will implement, or licence and regulate key ATT services. Most of these will be public authorities while others may be the providers or operators (from either the public or private sector, or a combination of both) of transport facilities or information services. The fora will have as their primary objectives the diffusion of information, the provision of guidance to projects and standardisation bodies, and the evolution of common strategies on technology, future trials, and investment. The urban forum was inaugurated on 3.11.93 and proposals are with the Commission for the inter-urban forum. Current action is not recommended on freight transport. Public transport should be addressed in the urban forum and the CORD task forces, and a forum to bring together interests in law enforcement has been suggested.
