V2057: PASSPORT : Promotion and Assessment of System Safety and Procurement of Operable and Reliable road transport Telematics : Report No. 5Funded under: FP3-DRIVE 2
This document describes the initial plan produced to perform case studies to confirm that safety objectives and safety requirements identified during the preliminary safety analysis are indeed reflected in the design, and that no new hazards have been introduced. The plan describes techniques for analysing the functions and the architecture of the target system, and for relating one to the other. A description of how to perform a fault tree analysis and a failure mode effect analysis is also given. It is to be expected that the methodology described in this plan will be modified in the light of the experience gained in performing the case studies.
