Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

This publication provides an overview of research on continuous and instantaneous heavy gas clouds. Experiments have been performed both in the field and in the wind tunnel to determine the influence of obstacles on the dispersion of heavy gases, and to determine concentration fluctuations. An extensive database has been created, from which conclusions can be drawn concerning the relation between mean gas cloud properties and their higher percentiles. The influence of obstacles was found to be in agreement with previous experiments and analyses.
