The aim of this workshop was to review the rapid development in the biological control of fruit and foliar diseases, notably in relation to research funded within the CAMAR research programme. The participants presented recent developments and analysed proven and potential applications of biological control including efficiency, biomass production, formulation, cost, homologation procedures and toxicological and environmental aspects. It highlighted the constraints limiting the reliable use of biological agents.
