Initial ohmic confinement results from TCV
TCV is a compact, highly elongated tokamak, capable of producing limited or diverted plasmas with currents up to 1 MA. A new shape control algorithm, based on a finite element reconstruction of the plasma current in real time, has been implemented. The results of the ohmic H-modes with energy confinement times reaching 80 ms are presented.
