Performance test procedures for optical coordinate measuring probes : Final project report : Part 2 : Proposal of user performed test procedures
The error behaviour of optical probes was studied by means of real measurements and by modelling the error mechanisms in simulated measurements. The behaviour of 11 different probes was analysed for a total of 35 error mechanisms. Based on the results, specification criteria were developed by which suppliers can determine the metrological performance of their probes. Test procedures were developed which match these criteria and make it possible to verify whether a probe meets the guaranteed quality. The suggested test procedures reported are to support the work of national and international standardisation committees as a first approach to the development of official rules for the performance testing of optical coordinate measuring probes.
