Abstract

Virtual reality and its enabling technologies, simulation, visualisation and robotics, are discussed both as convergent and as individual technologies. This volume presents the latest clinical and basic science findings from medical, surgical, academic and industrial points of view. The book addresses international aspects of medicine and interactive technology in the future of health care. It includes such subjects as technology transfer, telerobotics, telemedicine, education and training, and virtual reality. All topics are addressed from the perspective of the end-user as well as of the interface designer.
