The refined gamma-gamma maximum a posteriori adaptive speckle filter for SAR images (JRC version)
The Refined (structure preserving) Gamma-Gamma Maximum A Posteriori speckle filter for structure activity relationship (SAR) images was delivered to the JRC in 1993. Processing performed by this software involves various operations thus numerous parameters are required for the correct operation of the software. Some of these parameters are system parameters characterizing the SAR imaging system, however a number are thresholding values, which can be either computed by the software upon user's requirements, or directly set by the operator. In order to simplify operation the use of configuration files (where optimal parameters are preset) has been introduced in the software by the authors. The two resulting software are now part of the standard procedures for SAR images processing within the MARS and TREES projects. This document describes the parameters required by the software and explains their meaning and their effect on the software operation, in order to provide assistance to earth resource satellite (ERS)-1 users community, in the framework of these European programmes.
