Reactor safety programme first annual progress report : December 1992 - November 1993Funded under: JRC-REACTSAFE 6C, JRC-RES 6C
The Nuclear Fission Safety 1990-94 programme includes the following research areas: project 1: core degradation progression; project 2: hydrogen related problems; project 3: molten fuel/coolant interaction; project 4: reactor pressure vessel response; project 5: molten core/concrete interaction; project 6: source term (fission products behaviour); project 7: containment response under severe accidents; project 8: accident management support. Each of the eight projects is executed by groups of organisations (59 organisations in total), coming from national research centres, universities, industries and utilities, under the responsibility of a project coordinator. The Joint Research Centre is participating in most of the projects. For each project the objectives of the programme, the working plan and a progress review of the activities carried out in the period December 1992 to November 1993 are reported. As a result of the work, several state of the art reports have been produced in the most relevant topics in the different fields of activity, together with code improvement and model development carried out in the framework of the reinforced concerted action.
