This publication contains a market oriented study on different applications of domestically produced plant fibres. Motives for research in the field of plant fibres are the development of applications for alternative crops, in order to strengthen the position of non-food crops quantitatively and qualitatively. The research areas covered are textiles, pulp and paper, polymer matrix composites, building and construction materials, geotextiles and non-wovens. Each area ends with conclusions and recommendations.
