This report describes the preparation of an estuarine water reference material (CRM 505), and studies of its homogeneity and stability, as well as the analytical work for the certification of the contents for certain trace elements. The report contains all the results and the details of methods used to certify the contents of, respectively, cadmium (0.80 nmol/kg or 0.09 micro-g/kg), copper (29.4 nmol/kg or 1.87 micro-g/kg), nickel (24.1 nmol/kg or 1.41 micro-g/kg) and zinc (172 nmol/kg or 11.2 micro-g/kg). Indicative values (not certified) are given for Fe and Mn. Values obtained individually for other elements are given for information.
