The impact of a new technology on the development of refrigeration equipment and heat pumpsFunded under: FP2-JOULE 1
Heat pumps may consume 30-50 % less energy than conventional heating systems, and can also be used for air conditioning and refrigeration. This study assesses the possible role of heat pumps in reducing emissions of CO(2) and other pollutants and minimising problems related to CFCs, in view of new technological developments. Three systems are considered: compression machines, absorption and absorption/compression systems, and solid-gas sorption machines.
