Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS


COST (European Cooperation in the field of Scientific and Technical research) is a Europe-wide programme for the co-ordination of national research. Founded in 1971 at a ministerial conference in Brussels, its scope has broadened over time and now includes fifteen disciplines, ranging from fundamental chemistry to the social sciences. Starting with nineteen participants in 1971, the membership has broadened to 25 signatory countries.
