Community Research and Development Information Service - CORDIS

Science and technology offer important opportunities for developing countries. For such countries, improvements in living conditions and, in the long-term, sustainable economic development will depend to a large extent on an appropriate scientific and technological base. The EU's international cooperation programmes make an important contribution to strengthening the scientific base in developing countries, providing an improved capability to apply appropriate scientific solutions to key development issues.
