PACE (Perspectives on Advanced Communications for Europe) is an initiative set up under the RACE programme to assess potential socio-economic impacts of the deployment of advanced telecommunications services. The services covered include broadband communications, personal (mobile) voice and data communications, and high speed networks. The synthesis report summarises the key conclusions of specific analyses and expands on their findings, taking account of recent developments likely to be of significance for future policies and strategies, in particular recent experiences in the United States.
