The first phase of the CCF investigations resulted in an experimental validation of the principles of the CCF process. Pre-reduction and melting of ore concentrate in the cyclone has been demonstrated. The pre-reduction degree found was 25 %, at a gas burn-out degree of 80 to 90 %. The feasibility of controlling both process elements, the ironbath and the cyclone, in the integrated CCF reactor has been demonstrated.
