At the European Microwave Signature Laboratory (EMSL) a series of bistatic scattering measurements of a wire mesh has been made. The measurements were done in specular geometry and with the wires of the mesh aligned as well as tilted with respect to the main polarisations of the measurement system. The experiment investigated the depolarising properties of the wire mesh, and the possibility of using it for polarimetric calibration instead of the dihedral corner reflector currently in use.
