Abstract

The objective of the research project was to ascertain whether a multiple-stage release procedure could be employed in connection with decommissioning and dismantling Soviet-type nuclear power stations. New measuring and calibration methods as well as a new EDP program were to be developed in order to improve the data acquisition and processing. The total-gamma-activity measurement proved to be one of the most significant methods for taking decision measurements. On the basis of the measurements taken in the course of the measuring campaign, the materials were released when they fell below the specified limiting value.
