Abstract

The New Oxide Fuels Complex (NOFC) at Springfields (GB) is in the final stages of commissioning and will be in full commercial operation by the end of 1995. It aims to bring the facilities for processing UF(6) through to fuel into a single facility. This paper discusses the main design features of the plant, the interaction process between BNFL and Euratom, and the main feature of the safeguards approach to be implemented.
