Abstract

This paper details the changes being implemented in the surveillance hardware and software used by the Euratom Safeguards Directorate. The introduction of the EMOSS and GEMINI surveillance devices, together with the improvements to the review capabilities of the existing analogue technology, are discussed. The impact of the wider application of digital technology to safeguards C/S devices and techniques is explored, based upon existing experience and current developments in the front end image processing technology.
