Abstract

An ultrasonic method using a broadband transducer with a large angular aperture generating Rayleigh waves is employed for the detection of bonding flaws on NiCoCrAlY plasma sprayed coatings. Artificial defects are realised for setting the distance between the transducer and the sample, in order to optimise the contrast of the C-Scan image.
