High temperature thermal hydraulic calculations in support of the STORM programme
The thermal-hydraulic conditions in the aerosol generation system of the STORM facility determine the quantity and size distribution of the aerosol particles that enter the test section. The vaporisation chamber and condensation pipe are two components of the aerosol generation system where the temperature of the argon/helium mixture varies from more than 10000 K to 1000 K. A detailed study of the heat exchange processes in these two components was performed as a first step in the study of the thermal-hydraulic and aerosol behaviour of the whole STORM facility.
