Abstract

This paper presents a human-machine organisation study based on the working position concept. A methodology for designing this kind of system is proposed. The resulting organisation is then described as a complex communication network between both the human and technical control systems of each working position. This global representation is illustrated with the air traffic control organisation. Finally, the impact of new control tools is discussed through experimental and field studies.
