An experimental model for surface scattering models validation at the European Microwave Signature Laboratory
The study of scattering from rough surfaces has been of interest to researchers for many years. Almost all comparisons between physical models and experimental data acquired in natural conditions do not seem sufficient for model validation. Indoor measurements using experimental models approximating the field conditions may be useful because of the possibilities to control both the target and the measurement parameters. In this paper the activities concerning planning and realisation of some rough surfaces with defined statistical and dielectric properties, representing the experimental models for validation of surface scattering models are described.
