Abstract

A dissipative model of a stationary, axisymmetric plasma configuration is used to calculate the pressure and toroidal magnetic field strength as functions of the poloidal magnetic flux in Grad-Shafranov's equation. Interface and boundary conditions are considered for a configuration where the toroidal plasma column with simply-connected meridional section is encircled by a vacuum region with annular meridional section. Possible iterative procedures are suggested for solution.
