Migration of radionuclides in the geosphere : Mirage project - Third phaseFunded under: FP2-RADWASTOM 4C
This report describes the present status of research activities within large integrated multi-national subprojects of the Mirage project concerning the migration of radionuclides in the geosphere. These projects are: (i) colloids and organic substances in natural aquifer systems (CoCo activities); (ii) modelling geochemical processes and extension of the thermodynamic database (Chemval project); (iii) migration experiments in Boom clay; (iv) natural analogue studies. It also contains the reports of a team of experts set up to review Mirage activities since 1982 in five research fields: (i) chemistry of radionuclides including actinides/fission products; (ii) water/rock interactions (geochemical, mineralogical) and transport processes; (iii) natural system studies; (iv) radionuclide transport modelling and data collection; (v) contribution to performance/safety assessment of geological disposal.
