Pressure dependence of optical gaps in graphite
The basic features of the electronic structure of graphite can be understood in terms of the single layer based model of Slonczewski-Weiss-McClure. Band structure calculations are used in studies of many parameters such as charge density and optical gaps at ambient pressure. This paper considers the pressure dependence of the optical gaps, due to changes in the lattice constant as a result of the application of hydrostatic pressure.
