Pilot-plant-scale photodegradation of phenol in aqueous solution by photocatalytic membranes immobilizing titanium dioxide (Photoperm (R) process)
The rate of TiO(2)-mediated photodegradation of phenol was studied by examining the disappearance of both phenol and total organic carbon (TOC). The operations at two pilot plants with different flow rates and different arrangements of membranes are compared. The apparent reaction orders as a function of concentration are also measured.
